A firm that specialised in screen printing T-shirts and other articles of clothing. There is the option to conduct business entirely online or through a physical location.
Step 1: Create the design
To begin, the printer takes the desired design for the final product and prints it onto a clear acetate film. This will be utilised in the creation of the stencil.
Step 2: involves preparing the screen
Next, the printer will select a mesh screen to accommodate the design’s complexity and the fabric’s texture. The mesh screen is then coated with a layer of light-reactive emulsion, which will solidify when exposed to bright light and developed.
Step 3: involves exposing the emulsion
The design-bearing acetate sheet is then placed on the emulsion-coated screen and exposed to an extremely bright light. The light hardens the emulsion, leaving the design-covered portions of the screen in liquid form.
Diazo is less expensive, has a longer exposure time, and is unsuitable for intricate prints.
SBQ-based: requires no mixing, cures incredibly rapidly, is pricey, and is excellent for detailed work.
Dual-cure emulsions: Mixing of Diazo and SBQ is required
Step: 4
It involves washing away the emulsion to create the stencil.
After a predetermined period of exposure, the sections of the screen not covered by the design will have hardened. The unhardened emulsion is then removed with care. This leaves a clean imprint of the design for the ink to travel through on the screen.
The stencil is then ready for usage after the screen has been dry.
The item is prepared for printing in
Step 5:
The printing press is then loaded with the screen. The objector garment to be printed is set flat on the printing board, beneath the screen, forethinking.
The ink is squeezed through the screen onto the item in
Step 6.
The printing screen is lowered onto the printing board. Ink is applied to the top of the screen, and a squeegee is used to pull it along the entire length. This presses ink through the stencil’s exposed sections, impressing the design on the product beneath.
If many items are being printed, the screen is raised and a new garment is placed on the printing board. The procedure is repeated.
After all products have been printed and the stencil has fulfilled its purpose, the emulsion is cleaned with a special washing fluid so that the mesh can be reused to generate new stencils.
step 7:
The product is dried, inspected, and completed.
The printed item is subsequently sent through a drier, which “cures” the ink and produces a smooth, colorfast surface. Before being delivered to its new owner, the final product will be properly inspected and washed to remove any residue.
